Micky Oaks is a singer/songwriter who spent the last 14 years teaching herself the artistry and creativity of acoustic guitar, vocals, and songwriting. She picked up her first guitar at age 20 and almost immediately began writing songs as a way to self-reflect, navigate change, and as an outlet for creativity and self expression. In 2019, when Micky started doing open mics and playing her original songs, other artists and her friends in Saskatoon’s community were very encouraging which led her to Remedy Music in 2024. With the support of Remedy, Micky released her first full length album 'Blowing Smoke' in July 2025 that includes 13 original tracks written over the past 6 years, and recorded at the end of 2024, into early 2025. Micky is now taking a year abroad in Australia where she plans to immerse herself in creativity and learn more about music theory, production, piano, and guitar. These foundational skills will lend themselves to her next body of work which she hopes to release sometime in the next 2 years, with more intention behind the sound, themes, and songwriting style across each track.
